Hi, I’m Ian

I’m a writer and software developer. I currently work as a technical content marketer for PostHog, an open source suite of product and data tools.

I write about internet communities, products, creation, and crypto. I want humans, communities, and creations to flourish. I also write a monthly newsletter with updates, thoughts, and recommendations from me. I wrote Smart Young BC.

I build products that help people create and connect. These include Write Concise, which helps you write better by writing less, and Mocha Match, a Discord bot for matching members to create connections. In the past, I’ve worked as a full stack developer at tap.video, an interactive video platform and Camp Social, a web3 social infrastructure protocol.

I live in Vancouver, Canada. I read (a lot), lift weights, play basketball and tennis, listen to podcasts, and tweet. Here’s my GitHub. If you’re reading this, I would love to hear from you. Say hi, I respond to every email.
